Investing money you cannot afford to lose will not get you anywhere.
Every pay check I'd save 15% for savings, and after 8 months I started investing.
The market is always a little crazzy!!
With the right trainning and time, this will make you a better trader..Double Your Money Every Single Month.

I started out with $4000 way back when, but did not know very much about this market. I lost alot of it and now know I should have started with more.

I don’t think 4000 is a bad number… I trade with ACM and their minimum is 5000, perfect to make decent profit and enough to cover from bad decisions….
I think that your mistake was just: bad decisions because you didn’t knew that much about the market… before adding more money I suggest you study and then you’ll enjoy trading more and, of course, you’ll get more money !!!!

Hello Every one
I am happy to be hear. I am new to this thread so I will go a around to read what everyone is talking about. I am a trader. I started my account back in 2007 with $3000 after buying a commercial trading system. I lost it in one week. After that I never trade live again. For the past 2 years I have been aducate myself to find out what it is that make trading forex so difficult.
Well I am glad I did. I jst start trading again this month. Open my first live account with $5000.
Hope this time, I am sure right now I finally get it. I will beat the forex monsters and have a successs story to tell.
Good luck to all.I Trade for Fun, Money and I use Currency Meter V5

I trade direct ECN broker. Do not like regular dealing desk brokers. They are 90% scams.
Good luck to you.

Unless you will be trading $.10 a pip, you will not last long.
In my experience, $5000 or more is what a trader should start with.
The reason is simple. As human, we do not have the discipline to stick to the rules.
Eeveryone is looking for instant gratification.
If you place you money on a money market, they will propably offer you 1 to 2% annual return on you money. Most people are very happy with that and are patient enough to keep the money in the bank.
The same individual with a forex trading account will have a hard time trading at $.50 or $1 a pip.
Note that if you are trading at $1 a pips targeting 100 a month, you will make more money on your investment than you would with the bank.
The key is to have a good system and understand how to control your greed.
This is just my 2 cents

Started with $1000, though putting any less would be too little to get me started

Feeling very inadequate $189 with eToro and $164 with Alpari-UK. After reading all the threads this is far too little money..
I was thinking of using a an EA (Forex Typhoon) but cant get it to work properly, and their support is non-existant
